When I was a kid, my dad was obsessed with power tools. It didn't matter that he would ever use them, because he didn't, but he had to have them. Thus, when Tony drags me to Home Depot to look at power tools, and cites specs about lawn mowers that make my eyes glaze over a little bit, its fine. I'm used to it, and happy to be there for him.
But the truth is, I do more than humor him, I totally understand him because I am the exact same way... about kitchen appliances. I have to have all of them. I want a state of the art super turbo charged kitchen the way Tony wants a garage where he can weld and restore old cars.
The Vita-Mix is the crown jewel in my collection, my prize table saw. I also have a great pressure cooker, and lots of other tools in my collection. Of course, I want so much more. I love working with food, and sometimes things don't work out so well and sometimes they really do. But it's just the same as any other thing one does with their hands.
